About the location

Col Houstoun and Tami Waring, USAF (Ret.), met and married as a result of God’s work and OCF’s presence at the Air Force Academy. Both are USAFA graduates, they raised nine children (four still at home), they lived in base housing whenever possible, and they have supported the chaplaincy through attendance at services and by volunteering as local leaders. Hous’ specialty was as a pilot in the F-15E Strike Eagle, and Tami’s specialty changed from Space System Analyst to mother and teacher. Today, they are OCF’s staff representatives assigned in the Maxwell-Gunter AFB area.

A 16,000-mile ‘HousHold Adventure’

With each passing mile behind the Waring family, a pathway toward future ministry was being paved by connecting with and hearing the hearts of airmen and chaplains.

Highlights from November 2016

Our family hosted 20 cadets and an Iowa ANG family to the house for a pre-graduation social. This was a fun time of playing ultimate, grilling pizza, sipping espresso and enjoying milkshakes.

Highlights from September and October

With two Officer Training School (OTS) classes running simultaneously we saw weekly September and October attendance at the Sunday morning Bible studies consistently running right around 70 cadets and officers.

Highlights for August

Our family hosted a welcome social for new students and permanent party personnel one Saturday this month. We served ice cream and toppings while getting to know one another with the hope that God will build relationships over the coming year that lead to deeper gospel impacts.
