OCF Minnesota

The OCF fellowship in Minnesota is organized to provide Christian fellowship between active, retired, former officers, and ROTC students in the Twin Cities area and beyond.

OCF Minnesota has a working relationship with Campus Crusade (CRU) VALOR Ministries to assist each other with student programs.

Speaker: former Air Force Chief of Chaplains (Ch)Maj Gen Cecil Richardson, USAF (Ret.), has the distinction of being the longest serving chaplain in U.S. military history. Before ordination General Richardson served in the Air Force as an enlisted man working as a Russian interpreter and intercept operator. After separating from the Air Force for a period he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree as well as a Master of Divinity Degree. General Richardson re-entered the Air Force as a chaplain and served at every level including base, wing, group and command chaplain. His last three assignments were as commandant of the Air Force Chaplains College, Deputy Chief of Chaplains as a brigadier general, and finally as Chief of Chaplains. In this role he oversaw all of the Air Force chapel programs and advised the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff on religious concerns and issues. While fulfilling his duties he travelled to more than 130 countries including numerous trips to the Middle East in support of deployed personnel. 

His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal with silver and bronze oak leaf clusters. Cecil and his wife Jan have three sons including one who is currently serving as an Air Force chaplain.

Music provided by: jazz musician Johnny Holliday swho serenades audiences with his unique renditions of popular songs and original music. Johnny brings a different dimension to his music as both a disciplined military member and man of deep faith.

As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with expertise in front of an audience, Johnny offers an excellent collection of recorded music as well. He has performed at many venues, including concerts, televised shows, and for military dignitaries and ambassadors, and has opened for major artists including Al Jarreau, Lauryn Hill, Lalah Hathaway, Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown.

Saturday Afternoon Seminar: Christian Leadership in a Non-Christian World

This optional seminar with Ch(Maj Gen) Richardson is an opportunity to interact with him and other attendees in an informal setting. Although no registration is necessary, when signing up for the dinner, please let organizers know for planning purposes if you think you will attend this event.

Dinner
Cost for meal is $30, with choice between beef or chicken.
$10: cost of meal for cadets, midshipmen and their guests.

Directions:
North Heights Lutheran Church is located at 1700 Hwy 96 W, Arden Hills (east of Hwy 10 and south side of Hwy 96). Proceed to one of the parking lots on the East side (back) of the church. For the afternoon session enter Door B and proceed straight ahead to N-216 (Upper Centrum).  For the dinner enter Door C and proceed straight ahead to S-257 (Great Hall - South).
