COL Chester "Chet" and Michelle Arnold,
Colonel Chet Arnold, USMC (Ret.), is the OCF Field Staff member in the Pensacola, FL, region. Chet enlisted in the Marines in 1981 and was meritoriously commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1982. After graduation from the Basic School in Quantico, VA, in June 1983, he and his wife, Michelle, traveled to Pensacola, FL, where Chet reported for flight training. In May 1985 Chet was awarded his wings as a Naval Aviator and assigned to fly A-4 Skyhawks. After several deployments to the western Pacific in the A-4, he transitioned to the AV-8B Harrier with continued deployments in the western Pacific and also in the Mediterranean in support of various operations. After a tour in the Pentagon as an acquisition professional, Chet assumed command of an AV-8B squadron and deployed to Al Asad Air Base in Iraq.
From there he attended the Naval War College where he earned a master’s degree and was subsequently assigned to the Joint Staff. As a Joint Staff Officer he was assigned to the Institute for Defense Analyses travelling throughout Africa in support of the stand-up of USAFRICOM and counter-terror operational research and analysis. Upon retirement Chet worked in support of the DoD CIO as a senior analyst.
Chet and Michelle recently celebrated 31 years of marriage and now live in Pensacola with three of their seven children. Chet and Michelle have been active in OCF for over 20 years and after leaving active duty would occasionally discuss and pray over how to better serve the military community for Christ. At OCF’s White Sulphur Springs conference center in July 2013 they got their answer when during a ministry briefing they were made aware of the OCF Pensacola position. Now to serve!
