👋 Please Meet: CAPT Brent Moore, USN 👋 Q: H 👋 Please Meet: CAPT Brent Moore, USN 👋

Q: How did you first get involved with OCF?
A: I joined OCF as a 3rd-class midshipman at USNA when Tom and Mary Thompson (now my in-laws) became the OCF staff couple at the academy.

Q: Why OCF?
A: The unique bond of Christian military fellowship provides stability and encouragement in Christ regardless of where God sends us in the Navy.

Q: Why a military life?
A: God called me to serve our nation and has continued that calling numerous times. Each member of our family has grown spiritually through God's sovereign care during numerous deployments and from the countless opportunities He's provided for us to bless fellow military families.

Q: What's on your bucket list?
A: A trip to Ireland and Scotland.

Q: What music have you been enjoying lately?
A: Andrew Peterson's Resurrection Letters

Q: What's the best advice you've received?
A: Don't Waste Your Life -John Piper

Q: What excites you about serving on the Council, and what do you hope to achieve?
A: I'm excited to pour into OCF out of thankfulness for how God has used OCF within our family. I hope to serve faithfully, encouraging fellow military members and their families to grow in their walk with the Lord and knowledge of His Word.

Q: What has the Lord been teaching you?
A: God uses trials to grow our faith and to strengthen our spiritual endurance, so that we rely on Christ alone.

Q: What's your life Bible verse/passage?
A: Colossians 1:15-23

Does it matter if you are? Surely you are big enou Does it matter if you are? Surely you are big enough to be laughed at. See what the Lord was subjected to in Luke 8:53 and Matthew 27:29-41. Christians who are ridiculed because of their faith are in good company. It is a great honor to be a fool for Christ’s sake (1 Corinthians 4:10), but remember it is possible by our actions (if not in accordance with God’s will) to be fools for the “devil’s sake.” If someone says to you, “Are you the kind of fool who prays?” you may well reply, “Are you the kind of fool who doesn’t?”

Picture the scene at Jericho in Joshua 6: The inhabitants of that city must have gotten considerable amusement out of the “absurd Israelites” marching round the walls. No doubt they jeered at them, and perhaps they also threw rubbish, etc., at them. But the children of Israel allowed themselves to look like fools, in order to obey God. The result is seen in verse 20, and is confirmed by archaeology. There is great spiritual teaching in this story. If your life is Christlike in all its ways, people may laugh at you, but they will respect you, and this brings glory to God.

A practical hint: When laughed at, enter into the joke; show a sense of humor, and see the funny side of yourself! If called a “religious maniac” there is always the reply that we have a wonderful Keeper! (Psalm 121:7).

We look forward to working together heartily, as for the Lord." -LTC Ted & Beverly Kaiser, USA (Ret.)

Interim Europe RC Colin Wooten reported: "The big news in the region is LTC Ted and Beverly Kaiser, USA (Ret.), recently agreeing to serve as our Europe Regional Coordinator (RC) couple, with additional coverage of Bahrain, Qatar, and members in Africa.

"They have been active with OCF for over 30 years and leading local Bible studies with OCF since 1998. They have served together as a Local Leader couple multiple times at multiple locations and as the USMA OCF officer-in-charge couple. Ted is a USMA ’97 grad, served active duty as an Armor officer, and had two tours at USMA as an assistant professor of chemistry.

"They were assigned to Germany 2018-2023 where Ted retired last summer to begin working as a GS for DoDEA, traveling the European footprint to assess schools among other duties, a full-time job he will continue with while serving as RC."

Keep the Kaisers and other OCFers across Europe in your prayers as they serve in this unique region.

👋 Please Meet: LCDR Rocky Ward, USCG 👋 Q: H 👋 Please Meet: LCDR Rocky Ward, USCG 👋

Q: How did you first get involved with OCF?
A: I first attended OCF as a cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy when the Groves were hosting Bible study and worship.

Q: Why OCF?
A: OCF has provided amazing support through fellowship and mentorship through the various trials of my life. The combination of the Christian connection, military experience, wisdom, and general fellowship that OCF provides has been extremely helpful to me, and I know for other believers as well. I look forward to contributing to providing that same experience and Bible-centered support to other OCFers in the future.

Q: Why a military life?
A: I always wanted to serve in some branch of the military as a child growing up. God made it quite clear through various life events that he called me to the Coast Guard.

Q: What's on your bucket list?
A: Flying a Piper Super cub on floats into the remote wilderness of Alaska for a big adventure.

Q: What music have you been enjoying lately?
A: Matt Redmond's "10,000 Reasons," is one of my favorites. Also, the early singing efforts of my toddler son.

Q: What's the best advice you've received?
A: Don't neglect fellowship with other Christians, and make time to continue to pursue God.

Q: You were recently elected to the Council Class of 2028. What excites you about serving on the Council, and what do you hope to achieve?
A: I look forward to being able to give back to this organization that I have received so many benefits from and continue to grow new relationships centered on Christ. I hope to achieve the continued growth of the sound Biblical Bible studies and Christian network of OCFers for today and the future.

Q: What has the Lord been teaching you?
A: That He is good, sovereign, and in control, so I don't need to stress about what the future holds.

Q: What's your life Bible verse?
A: It's hard to pick one, but currently, God has placed Psalm 23 on my heart quite often.

1 Samuel 8 is the story of a people who did not wa 1 Samuel 8 is the story of a people who did not want to be thought eccentric or different from other nations. It is true (verse 5) that bad government was the initial cause of the desire of the Israelites to have a king to reign over them, but evidently they thought this was certain to be the solution, for then they would be “like all the other nations.”

In spite of warning that their “new order” would not work (10-18) the people persisted in their demand (19-20) and God “gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul” Psalm 106:15 (AV). God’s permission may not be God’s will.

To be thought eccentric by our fellow service members really is of no consequence, but common sense rightly tells us to avoid doing things that will give unnecessary cause for criticism in this respect. Keep levelheaded and get on with your job and let your work and your play be improved because of your faith.
