Dr. Gary Phillips: Resolved: In 2022, I Will ‘Trace’ Christ

The Christmas season is special anywhere, but we take great joy in hosting guests during Christmas and New Year’s at White Sulphur Springs. The stunning mountains covered with snow, the tables laden with warm food, the hotels decorated in the spirit of the holiday season, and the meaningful connections made between families and friends make Winter Retreats unlike any other season throughout the year. Many guests who live the ever-transient military lifestyle join us year after year, and we’re honored to be a place families have made part of their holiday tradition.

About the Topic: How long can our culture play worldview Jenga (removing truth, honor, sexual morality, sanctity of life, and more) before it collapses? What role does God want us to play as “salt and light” to impact our circles of influence? And how do we adjust our focus to make sure our aim is not the pursuit of happiness, but the pursuit of holiness? The goal of these days is to encourage us together, as we begin 2022, to “trace Christ”- there is no greater New Year’s resolution!

About the Speaker: Dr. Gary Phillips is a husband (49 years), grandpa, college and seminary professor, author (including Making Sense of Your World, with Bill Brown and John Stonestreet), and pastor. He loves the OCF and has been coming to teach at WSS for 3.8 decades. Gary and Betsy live in Chattanooga, TN, where Gary is on staff as Pastor Emeritus at Signal Mountain Bible Church, and teaches modular courses at various seminaries.
