Pastor Jeff Toomer, LTC (USA, Ret): “Jonah: Running from God”

About the Topic: The theme of Jonah is the theme of the Bible: sin and grace. It’s a story that plays over and over again in our lives. Sin is missing God’s standard. Grace is the picture of God pursuing us, in spite of us. Of the many lessons we learn from this narrative, one is most important — we are Jonah.

About the Speaker: Jeff Toomer currently serves as Director of Church Planting for Leaders Collective. He is the former pastor of Transit Church in Alexandria, VA, a church he planted in 2012. Prior to that, he served as Director of Operations and Campus Pastor for Manna Church in Fayetteville, NC. Jeff is a 20-year Army veteran, retiring as a lieutenant colonel to enter pastoral ministry. He is a 1988 graduate of West Point, and holds Masters Degrees in Counseling and Leader Development (1998, Long Island University), Military Arts and Sciences (2002, Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies), and Biblical Studies (2022, Reformed Theological Seminary).
