Reports To: Youth Programs Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Support the WSS Center Director and the ministry of the Officers’ Christian Fellowship in establishing and maintaining a healthy spiritual climate at WSS that glorifies the Lord and promotes spiritual growth and refreshment for every guest that comes to WSS and every person that works on the staff, whether paid or as a volunteer.
2. Responsible to disciple and evangelize subordinates, encouraging and equipping them for growth in their faith in Christ. Responsible to establish and maintain a healthy spiritual environment for subordinates to work, learn and develop in. Lead staff devotionals and prayers as assigned. Lead devotionals and prayer with subordinates as appropriate to support their spiritual development and support program goals.
3. Provide daily supervision of EXSEL Interns (when assigned), Senior Staff, Support Team and any other volunteers or temporary employees that work in Youth Programs. Develop spiritual/devotional curriculum for all youth programs that ensures our programs provide a safe place for participants to ask questions, grow in their understanding of the Lord, the Bible and deepen their faith. Because our ministry is primarily to the military community, ensure these programs focus on spiritual development and nourishment of kids and families in a military environment, accounting for the unique challenges and circumstances these kids and families face. Ultimately, ensure all activities and spiritual content in our youth programs help meet participants where they are in their Christian faith and move them closer to Jesus Christ.
5. Serve as the WSS Challenge Course Manager. Recommend building, maintenance, training, and inspection best practices to the Center Director for approval. Conduct all training, routine maintenance, and in-house inspections for every aspect of the climbing wall, high ropes and low ropes courses.
