Welcome to USCGA OCF
USCGA OCF is a thriving Christian community of Cadets and Officers ministering at CGA, focusing on mentorship/discipleship, Bible study, and biblical fellowship with an incredible ministry center just 5 minutes from the CGA.
Ministry in Action
About USCGA OCF: Cadets have access to a wide range of activities that foster personal development and spiritual growth. Among these activities are retreats, devotional weekends, camping trips, and service projects that allow cadets to engage with and contribute to their communities.
For those interested in deepening their faith, there are opportunities for Bible study and prayer groups, while the mentoring program provides a chance for members to learn from experienced leaders and develop their own leadership skills.
The praise team offers a creative outlet for musically inclined cadets, and chapel events provide a space for worship and connection. With so many options available, UCGA OCF cadets can find something that aligns with their interests and goals, contributing to a vibrant and supportive community.

Who We Are
CAPT Patrick and Jill Ropp, USCG (Ret.), are long-time OCF supporters. Pat is a 1991 USCGA graduate and was involved in OCF throughout his Academy years. Pat and Jill served alongside Coast Guard members and their families for over 25 years across the nation from Key West, Florida to Alaska, and many points in between. After their military retirement in 2016, they continued to serve and witness through their words and actions in the maritime industry. In 2015 they played a critical role in acquiring OCF’s hosting home, Shepherd’s Fold, for the CGA Cadet ministry. As the new interim Field Staff at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, they will work with the robust voluntary ministry team to disciple and mentor cadets, preparing the soon-to-be ensigns to spread the Good Word when they arrive at their new units.
